Back in the winter of 2015, founder Dave needed work and got himself smack dab in the middle of the rooftop solar surge in Southern Nevada. He was having fun helping clients with rooftop solar arrays in Las Vegas when the solar world of Nevada came crashing down. It was announced that, under the auspices of the Nevada Public Utilities Commission, NV Energy would be slashing what they were paying for net metered (extra energy sold back to the grid) for both existing customers and new customer, and it was to get worse over time. Dave's epiphany was that air conditioning was really the main driver of electric energy consumption in many places, and so if air conditioners could be run on solar with the bureaucracy of net metering? That would be something. Following a stint of commercial air conditioning sales, he noticed that the technology was ready, and established Airspool. After trying out 4 different overseas vendors, he started importing the best of the breed. Initially, the units were just normal mini-splits. But these required a vacuum pump, gauges, and other relatively rare tools for a normal buyer. Plus, even if someone could get these tools, they'd need to know how to use them. In short, the product worked, but it was too much friction for most to use.

So, with Todd 1's help, and after iterating a bit with some trial and error involved, the Quick ’n’ Easy^TM was born. The Quick ’n’ Easy^TM saves most users who've never installed a mini-split before around 5 hours in the installation process. With this product, Airspool was off to the races!

Dave's been in Las Vegas for almost 26 years now, and loves the sun for the climate and for the solar possibilities. Dave loves running, biking, swimming, and travel (cruise ships are a new passion). He's all about customer satisfaction. He's not happy if his clients aren't happy.
