“They are not kidding when they say literally five minutes to assemble (actual mounting and everything else might take a little longer) but it really was as easy as mount, uncoil, connect, and plug in.”

Yes. And we do not mean “yes, if you’re handy.” We mean yes, even if you have never touched an HVAC system in your life.
The Airspool Quick ’n’ EasyTM system was specifically designed so that a regular person with a drill can install a full heating and cooling system in 2-4 hours. Here’s why:

No, no, and no.
Solar panels produce DC electricity. Airspool’s compressor and fans also run on DC. So the power flows directly from your panels to the unit. No conversion, no middleman, no extra equipment.
No inverter. No charge controller. No battery bank. No electrician.
When it is sunny, you run on solar. When it is cloudy or nighttime, the unit switches to grid automatically. When it is partly cloudy, it blends both.
Airspool makes solar/hybrid mini-split air conditioners and heaters. They run on solar power, regular grid power, or both automatically.
The hybrid part means you do not have to choose. When the sun is out, it runs on solar. When it is not, it runs on grid. When it is partly sunny, it blends both. You plug it in, connect solar panels if you want, and let the system handle the rest.
We also make these unusually easy to install yourself with our Quick ’n’ EasyTM system.
Yes. A mini-split is a heat pump. It moves heat out of your room in summer and into your room in winter.
The name mini-split comes from the two-piece design: a compact indoor unit and an outdoor compressor unit connected by a small line set. No ductwork needed.
Our 12,000 BTU units cover around 500 sq ft. Our 24,000 BTU units cover around 1,000 sq ft. Our 36,000 BTU multi-head covers up to 1,500 sq ft across multiple rooms.
Not sure which size is right? Call us at (725) 699-1200 and we can usually help in about 5 minutes.
Every Airspool mini-split model heats and cools except the WS12 window unit, which is cooling-only.
Signature models heat down to 5°F. SuperHeat models use EVI technology to heat down to -22°F. In cooling mode, our units handle extreme summer heat as well.
Very. The indoor unit operates at library-level quiet, and the outdoor unit is comparable to a normal conversation.
Because Airspool uses variable-speed inverter technology, the system ramps smoothly instead of slamming on and off like a traditional air conditioner.
For 12,000 BTU mini-splits, plan around 1,500 watts. For 24,000 BTU systems, around 3,000 watts. For the WS12 window unit, around 1,800 watts.
Do not worry about being exact. If you have too little wattage, grid power fills in automatically. If you have extra, you extend your free cooling and heating hours.
Absolutely. Plug your Airspool into a standard wall outlet and it works right away as a high-efficiency mini-split. Add solar later whenever you are ready.
The unit fills the gap with grid power automatically. If your panels are producing part of what the unit needs, the wall outlet quietly supplies the rest.
You do not have to monitor it, switch it, or think about it. Solar is always prioritized. Grid fills the gaps.
If the sun is shining, yes. Your solar panels can continue powering the unit even when the grid is down.
At night during an outage, you would need a battery backup or generator connected to the AC side.
Yes. Just verify the total open-circuit voltage in series stays between 80V and 380V, and make sure the panels still perform properly on a sunny day.
No. The MPPT controller is built into the unit. Your setup is simply panels → MC4 connectors → outdoor unit.
A normal air conditioner needs conversion equipment, batteries in many cases, and far more panel capacity because of startup surge.
Airspool runs its motors natively on DC, so solar power can go straight into the unit without all that extra hardware.
With a traditional mini-split, you need a vacuum pump, gauges, specialty tools, and the expertise to use them. With Airspool Quick ’n’ EasyTM, you need a drill.
We do the hard stuff at our US headquarters. We pre-charge the refrigerant lines, pre-install the electrical cord, pre-wire the communication cable, pre-attach the solar whips, and include every tool you need.
Most first-timers finish in 2-4 hours. The Quick ’n’ EasyTM connections themselves take about 5 minutes. The rest is mounting, drilling, and routing the line set.
Just a drill. We include the hole saw, drill bits, screwdriver bit, level, gloves, mounting hardware, and screws.
You do not need: vacuum pump, gauges, nitrogen tank, torque wrench, wire cutters, strippers, crimping tool, or HVAC expertise.
Yes. Because we build every Quick ’n’ EasyTM system to order at our US headquarters, you can specify the line set length you need, up to 49 feet.
Yes. The self-sealing valves disconnect and reconnect without losing refrigerant. That makes moving the unit dramatically easier than a traditional mini-split.
Yes, though exterior walls are simpler because the line route is shorter. Interior wall installations just need a longer planned run.
Any stable, level surface with room for airflow: pad, pavers, platform, shelf, or wall brackets. In snowy climates, elevate it above expected snow level.
Translation: many customers see meaningful reductions in cooling-related energy costs during peak summer months.
Because we do a significant amount of labor for you at our US headquarters and include materials that would otherwise cost you time, money, and frustration.
We also test your unit on solar, grid, and hybrid before shipping, which is part of why we can stand behind it with a stronger guarantee.
For a 12,000 BTU setup, many customers land somewhere around $2,500-$4,500 all-in depending on the model, the solar panels, and the mounting approach.
The federal Inflation Reduction Act tax credit for residential solar and heat pumps expired on December 31, 2025. Check your state and local programs for any current incentives.
Whole-house solar can be great, but it is dramatically more expensive and more complicated. Airspool targets your biggest energy hog, heating and cooling, at a much lower price point and with a much easier install.
Take a full year to make sure Airspool is right for you. Return it within 365 days for a full refund, and we cover the return shipping.
Your comfort should not come with fine print. For five full years, we guarantee your unit keeps running. Parts and labor covered.
Very little. Rinse the indoor filter periodically, vacuum the indoor coil annually, and spray down the outdoor coil as needed. That is the bulk of it.
Call us at (725) 699-1200. We answer the phone, we troubleshoot, and your unit is backed by our guarantee.
That is normal. In heating mode the outdoor coil gathers condensation and periodically defrosts, which can create visible water.
Shipping is highly discounted worldwide, and your exact total is shown at checkout before you purchase.
For 12K units: We mostly contract with UPS for USA shipments. For international shipments, DHL, FedEx, UPS, or other carriers may handle the shipment.
For 24K and 36K units: Your unit will be shipped by pallet and freight carrier. A semi-truck with a lift gate will deliver your unit.
Yes. We ship to Canada, with duties and taxes handled separately from the purchase price.
That's not your problem! Remember you have a 365-day Buy and Try Guarantee so you can return your unit for any reason or no reason. We'll even cover the shipping costs back to us.
For the curious, the technical, and the creative installers.
Yes. These were some of our earliest and most enthusiastic customers. A 12,000 BTU unit is a strong fit for many mobile and alternative living spaces.
Yes. In dry climates, Airspool pairs especially well by adding dehumidification and steadier cooling when humidity spikes.
Total open-circuit voltage should stay between 80V and 380V, with some margin below the top end because voltage rises in cold weather.
Yes, but MC4 connectors make it straightforward because they only fit together correctly in the series chain.
Yes, but that becomes a more advanced setup. Airspool is designed first as a daytime-solar / nighttime-grid hybrid.
May and June are often the sweet spot because long days combine with milder temperatures that help panels perform efficiently.
Seriously — we love hearing from you. Whether you are figuring out which model fits your space, wondering about an installation detail, or just want to talk solar, pick up the phone or send an email.
“We answer the phone. Like, with a real human.”
“Ask us anything. We mean it.”
