Install it yourself — really

Install your own mini split in an afternoon. The hard part takes about five minutes — by hand.

Quick ’n’ EasyTM is Airspool’s twist-together connection system. The refrigerant lines ship pre-charged and sealed, so there’s no vacuum pump, no gauges, and no HVAC technician. Every tool and part is in the box except a drill.

01The connection

Three connections. None of them need a specialist.

Twist the refrigerant lines together

The line set ships pre-charged with refrigerant and sealed at both ends. The fittings are machined to seat by hand — twist until snug. No flaring, no vacuum pump, no gauges. This is the five-minute part.

Plug in the communication cable

The control wiring between the indoor and outdoor units is pre-wired at the factory and ends in a keyed twist connector. It only fits one way, so you can’t get it wrong.

Plug it into power

120V models come with a standard household plug, pre-installed. Larger 220/240V units use a whip-and-disconnect — tell us what your setup needs and we customize the cord end before it ships.

02Why it works

The hard parts are done at our factory, not your house.

A traditional mini-split install is really a refrigerant job. Flaring fittings, pulling a vacuum, pressure-testing, charging the lines — that’s the part that requires an HVAC license, and it’s why “ductless” usually still means a second contractor bill.

Airspool does that work before the box ships. The refrigerant lines are charged and sealed at the factory. The control wiring is pre-wired. The power cord is pre-installed — customized to your outlet if you need it. And every unit is assembled, upgraded, and tested on solar, grid, and hybrid power at our US HQ before it goes out the door.

What’s left for you is the part any determined homeowner can do: mount two units, drill one hole through the wall, connect the lines by hand. Most first-timers finish in 2–4 hours.

03The honest comparison

What you skip by doing it the Quick ’n’ EasyTM way.

Quick ’n’ EasyTM The traditional way
Refrigerant lines Pre-charged and sealed at the factory. Twist together by hand — about 5 minutes. Flare the fittings, pull a vacuum, pressure-test, then charge. A leak is your problem.
Tools A drill. Nearly everything else ships in the box, down to the hole saw and gloves. Vacuum pump, manifold gauges, flaring kit, torque wrenches.
Who does it You. Most first-timers finish in 2–4 hours, the same afternoon the box arrives. A licensed HVAC technician — when their schedule allows.
Install cost $0. The install system is included with the unit. A contractor quote on top of the equipment — commonly thousands.
Electrical 120V models plug into a standard outlet. Larger units ship with the cord end your setup needs. A hardwired circuit on top of the equipment cost.
Going solar Panels plug straight into the unit. No inverter, no batteries, no net metering. A separate inverter-and-battery project, if solar is an option at all.
If you get stuck Step-by-step videos, a full-color manual, and unlimited phone support from real humans. Back on the contractor's calendar.

And one worry you can drop entirely: installing it yourself doesn’t void anything. DIY is how this system is designed to go in, and it’s covered by the 5-year Airspool Comfort Commitment.
